1. Introduction

Mazraati ("we", "us", "our") operates the mazraati-dz.com platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data in compliance with Algerian Law 18-07 on the protection of personal data.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of data:

  • Account data: Name, email address, phone number (optional), and password hash when you register.
  • Land and farming data: Farm boundaries (polygon coordinates), wilaya, commune, soil type, water source, terrain type, equipment level, and soil observations you provide.
  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, session identifiers, and telemetry events for analytics and service improvement.
  • Technical data: Anonymized IP address (hashed daily), browser type, device information, and locale preference.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide our services: crop recommendations, land analysis, water source assessment, and AI-generated insights
  • To improve our algorithms and scoring models using anonymized, aggregated data
  • To send you account-related communications (verification emails, security alerts)
  • To monitor and prevent abuse, fraud, and security threats
  • To comply with legal obligations under Algerian law

4. AI Data Processing

When you use AI features (Land Insights, Crop Insights, Farm Advisor), your land and climate data is sent to third-party AI providers (currently Moonshot AI / Kimi) for processing. We send only the minimum data necessary for analysis: location coordinates, soil/climate parameters, and crop data. We do not send your name, email, or other personally identifiable information to AI providers. AI providers may process data on servers outside Algeria.

5. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following third-party services, solely to provide our platform:

  • Moonshot AI (Kimi K2.5): Receives anonymized land data for AI analysis. Servers may be outside Algeria.
  • Google (OAuth): If you sign in with Google, Google receives your authentication request. We receive your name and email.
  • Chargily: Processes subscription payments. Receives only payment-related data.
  • Resend: Sends transactional emails (verification, OTP). Receives your email address only.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers located in Europe. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and sensitive data (passwords) is hashed using bcrypt with a cost factor of 12. We implement rate limiting, IP-based abuse detection, and access controls to protect your data. Despite our measures, no system is 100% secure. We will notify affected users promptly in the event of a data breach.

7. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. Upon account deletion, personal data is deleted within 30 days. Anonymized telemetry data may be retained indefinitely for statistical purposes. Server logs are automatically rotated and deleted after 30 days.

8. Your Rights

Under Algerian Law 18-07, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access: You can request a copy of your personal data
  • Right of rectification: You can update your personal information through settings
  • Right of deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data
  • Right of opposition: You can object to data processing for non-essential purposes
  • Right to lodge a complaint: You may file a complaint with Algeria's National Authority for the Protection of Personal Data (ANPDP)

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We use a session identifier for anonymous analytics. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

10. Children's Privacy

Mazraati is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

11. Changes to This Policy

We will notify you of material changes to this policy via email or an in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect.
